Heart Openers: A Quick Yoga Sequence To Balance Love

Grab your mat and meet me in your sacred space for a series of quick heart opening postures! February is the month of LOVE and even after Valentine’s Day we must keep the intense feeling permeated throughout our bodies and spread unto the world!
In this video I'll take you through beginner stretches and yoga postures with a focus on "Anahata" or the heart chakra. These poses activate and balance energies associated with compassion, affection and love. This 4th chakra is responsible for moving love throughout your life with calmness and serenity. Through these postures we will strengthen the tissues and bones (like the ribcage) that protect the heart and help provide good body posture for those that work from a desk mostly.
It takes a conscious effort to practice opening the heart off the mat. Think about your own heart- Are you cold? Are you open to giving love? Receiving love? Do you forgive? Be honest with yourself and acknowledge these feelings. Also notice that love is not only given on an intimate level; consider your relationship with parents, family, friends and co workers.
After practicing these heart openers with me take the guidance of compassion, giving and receiving love with you throughout your days and take into account the life changes you will feel and see.
