Flock To The Perot Museum For The New "Birds Of Paradise" Exhibit!

The Perot Museum is the city’s top destination for Nature and Science fun! The new traveling exhibition Birds of Paradise is full on dancing, education and cultural history.

Developed by National Geographic and The Cornell Lab of Ornithology, the exhibit showcases photographer Tim Laman and scientist Edwin Scholes who made 18 trips over the course of eight years to follow all 39 species in the Papua New Guinea region. They capture of flaunting dazzling feathers, flashy dance moves with an emphasis on the birds cultural significance makes for a spectacular adventure with the family.

After snacking on “tropical treats” we entered a virtual rainforest and took on the role of a birdwatcher by gaining an up close and personal view of the dancing birds in their habitat. We then hopped over to the interactive dance exhibit where Jordon mimicked the birds mating dance moves (I couldn’t get my daughter away from this one!) My son’s favorite hands on experience was the interactive touch table where he was able to create new birds by evolving the feathered beauties into new species.

The Birds of Paradise’s only stop in Texas is at The Perot Museum from Oct. 8, 2016 - Jan. 8, Tickets can be purchased online and the memories created will last a lifetime!
