Indonesian Designer Anniesa Hasibaun Makes History During NYFW

Indonesian fashion designer Anniesa Hasibaun sent NYFW on a whirlwind with her luxurious garments that strolled down the runway topped with hijabs to complete every look. The 30 year old made history as the first ever designer to showcase hijabs with every look during the official NYFW shows.

Anniesa Hasibaun's signature sequin stones and pearls lit up the runway layered perfectly for a elegant flair. The rich prints and fancy fabrics of her S/S 2017 collection hypnotized onlookers as 48 looks hit the runway featuring gowns, tunics, suits and caftans in stunning pastels and shimmering brocade golds.

This masterpiece of a collection was a joy to watch live. I’ve attended many fashion shows during fashion week before and none have been quite as intriguing as this 1 year old brand. Receiving a greatly warranted standing ovation, Anniesa Hasibaun tipped down the runway with a beautiful warm smile waving in disbelief at the reception of her cultural collection- that made history.
