Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar takes residence in Addison at Village on the Parkway and offers new, fresh menu items made from scratch under the direction of Executive Chef Gabriel (Gabe) Caliendo that add a blend of different flavors to the all- American foods we love so much.
What better way to have a little girl talk with my gal pal Talia than over some fresh foods? I mean, we both LOVE to eat! So I was thrilled to partake in some complimentary lunching.

For starters we munched on Street Corn Wheels: Farm fresh sweet corn, seasoned, and thrown on the grill, then slathered in lime-spiked garlic sauce, topped with queso blanco, Tajin and fresh cilantro. The lime-spiked garlic sauce added an unconventional layer to sweet corn. The mix of sweet and sour flavors made for an interesting yet tantalizing taste.
Sipping on Peaches + Moonshin: Stillhouse Moonshine, sweet peaches, cranberry juice, Dekuyper Peach Schnapps, housemade ginger beer and mint and A fresh Watermelon Margarita: Milagro Silver Tequila, Dekuyper watermelon schnapps we dished on family life.

Next was the Ceviche + Chips: Made from scratch with mahi mahi, shrimp, sweet peppers, red onions, tomatoes, jalapenos, and cilantro, marinated in lemon and lime juices and served with smashed avocado and housemade tortilla chips. Now, I’m not a seafood fan but I’ll taste anything. I was very surprised as to how fresh the spoonful of shrimp, mahi mahi, tomatoes and avocado fused.
BBQ Bison Meatloaf was dropped onto the table. We both looked at the All-natural Durham Family Ranch grass-raised Wyoming Bison, seasoned with Worcestershire, fresh herbs, BBQ sauce, garlic, and onions, wrapped in bacon, and served with housemade red skin potato mash, sautéed spinach, and crispy haystack onions dish with uncertainty. Once we dug in, it wasn’t half bad. I didn’t quite understand the bacon wrapped around but Bison isn’t half bad. Especially paired with crispy haystack onions.

The Summer Squash & Bacon Pizza was a surprise to me! Zucchini and yellow squash, Portobello mushrooms, smoked bacon, creamy housemade pesto, pine nuts, sweet peppers, feta, mozzarella and fresh basil all topped the crisp pizza crust. The mix of fresh veggies and alfredo was quite the filler.

Approaching the “Lazy Dog” phase because we were stuffed to capacity and then our server and the smile infected Manager delivered us the sweets! A Key Lime Cheesecake: With a graham cracker crust, topped with a signature key lime glaze and housemade whipped cream, fresh lime zest and a freshly baked key lime cookie. I’m no key limer but this dish was just the right amount of sweet! Can I get a side of whipped cream to take home PLEASE?!?! The Peach Crumble: Warm peaches topped with brown sugar and cinnamon oat crumble, baked until golden brown & served with a big scoop of vanilla bean ice cream was my favorite. Fresh peaches + oats + ice cream = DESSERT OVERLOAD! I couldn't get enough! I literally had to make myself stop scooping or succumb to a food coma
