The Perot Museum Houses Summer Fun!

The Perot Museum houses the city’s most intriguing exhibits, not to mention over 5 floors of science and nature that is not only interesting for adults but fun learning for children. The Perot Museum has something for each age group, young and old.
Last week my family and I were invited to experience the inventive architecture. We started with a screening of the new National Parks Adventure 3D in The Hoglund Foundation Theater, a National Geographic Experience.
While snacking on complimentary “campfire goodies,” breakfast burritos, s’more cones and apple pie packs. My kiddos picked up a package of seeds to plant as well as a big souvenir buttons. After the 3D National Park excursion my kiddos were ready to race the cheetah!
But before that we had to check out the Eye of the Collector exhibit the Museum’s first fully self-curated exhibition featuring personal collections from various collectors including some Dallasites. The displays ranged from Dallas Cowboys memorabilia, African American and black dolls, pre Columbian artifacts and weapons PEZ candy dispensers, and so much more! We nearly spent an hour in that room alone gasping and gazing at the unique pieces.
From there we tracked over to the Lamar Hunt Family Sports Hall to test out our athleticism. Within this area kids (or adults) can test their speed against a cheetah, NFL running back Jammal Charles or a T- Rex! Test your reaction time with the grasping stick and test your technique against world know athletes like Roger Staubach!
We shifted through all 11 exhibits exploring, from the Rose Hall of Birds to the T. Boone Pickens Life Then and Now Hall learning new facts on fossils, soaring like birds and racing robots!
If you’re ever in need of somewhere to go to occupy the kids for hours this summer The Perot Museum is a great, local destination.
