Opening up the gateway to distinguished Texas filmmaking, last Thursday Mockingbird Station’s- The Peoples Last Stand kicked off the Dallas International Film Festival’s Pre-Fest Roundtables.
Dallas Film Society's Artistic Director James Faust and coordinator Sarah Harris have hand picked over 153 dynamic films. Making it a powerful 10th year of the Dallas International Film Festival, they agree that quality and a good story are of upmost importance in their big screen selection criteria.

I chatted it up with directors Shawn M Colon (A Fat Wreck), Willie Baronet (Signs of Humanity), Bill Schwarz (Late Bloomers), and William Kaufman and Chad Law (Daylight’s End).
Between A Fat Wreck’s high strung puppet reenactments of life behind punk record label NOFX to the magnifying Signs of Humanity, challenging national stereotypes of the homeless and Daylight’s End drama/horror/comedy of humans hell-bent on survival battling blood thirsty hybrids, I gained a whole new respect for the film making process. Each of these films will be making their world premier at the Dallas International Film Festival.
The Dallas International Film Festival runs April 14-April 24. Making the cut of local sponsors include Whole Foods, Paper City Mag, Univision, Reel FX.
