Feast, Drink, Learn- Park & Palate 2015!!

Imagine entering into a secret garden and receiving a sunny welcome of fine wines and exotic morsels to enjoy at your leisure....now you’re thinking last weekends Park and Palate, a two-day event hosted by Klyde Warren Park.

Lavishly filling the park were gourmet samples of various cuisines and kitchen gurus "spilling the tea" on hassle-free ways to prepare your own meals at home. Food Networks Chopped reality show judge and recent author of “The Chef Next Door”, Amanda Freitag showed the audience how to bake a live lobster during cooking demos. Encouraging disaster free home cooking, "Do your prep!" was her motto.

Tastemakers could experience the salty-sweet pear deliciousness of Jody Elliot’s “Brown Butter Blondie Parfait”. For the more adventurous there was “Texas Rabbit Chorizo” prepared by Harvest Seasonal Kitchen. A dish made with Homestead Mills yellow grits, quesofresco, watercress and of course, rabbit. (Interesting concept, I know) “Pig Ear Salad” was also on the menu at CBD Provision’s booth.

Guest cooled down to the sounds of Dallas' own renowned DJ Lucy Wrubel while enjoying Pop Stars- handcrafted popsicles. Kris Byrd of Liquid Logistics informed us on the concept of Free Flow Wines. An eco-friendly wine dispensing system that easily caught my attention. Mini BLTs on macaroons were served up by Joel Harrington and staff of Bolsa adding a new range to my palate.

Klyde Warren Park offered a spectacular event to indulge foodies, aspiring chefs and other connoisseurs alike. Marketing event coordinator, Harvey Morales alongside Erica White and Annie Black spearheaded a stimulating event. I look forward to next years!
