Witness The Phenomenon Known As Motown The Musical!

I’m sure your grandparents, parents or you, yourself have memories of listening to The Temptations “My Girl” or The Supremes “Stop! In the Name of Love” or maybe even Marvin Gaye “Lets Get it On”…. *sings* Ohhh babe… Whatever you favorite Motown memory is relive the melodies that played a major role in racial integration on stage at the AT&T PERFORMING ARTS CENTER MARGOT AND BILL WINSPEAR OPERA HOUSE until August 16th.

Founded 56 years ago, Motown has created songs for generations from now legends The Supremes, Smokey Robinson, Marvin Gaye, The Jackson 5, Stevie Wonder, Rick James and many more. Motown the Musical will take you on a ride as Barry Gordy creates one of the most influential record companies the world will know. You’ll illuminate as the great performers, shiny and colorful costumes grab your attention and take you back to when music really meant something and changed the world.

My favorite performers were Allison Semmes (Diana Ross), she embodied Diana Ross with as much grace, sass and poise as I would imagine the Queen to have. Jarran Muse (Marvin Gaye) and his jaw dropping voice made me feel like the “Whats Going On” singer took over his body for the performance. Nathaniel Cullors who portrayed young Berry Gordy/Stevie Wonder/Michael Jackson did an outstanding job! Such a talented you man (you know it’s hard to pull off Michael but he did it!) and Elijah Ahmad Lewis as Stevie Wonder who was so righteous with every note.

From the vision, to the creation, to the dedication, singers and tunes Motown the Musical is the BEST musical production you will ever see! You’ll see the love between Berry Gordy Jr. and Diana Ross, the dedication of Smokey Robinson and the struggles faced along the way as the Motown Sound rings through you ears with over 40 songs performed. It’s so amazing I couldn’t tell if I was at a musical or a concert!

I could go on and on but YOU have got to see the musical masterpiece for yourself! Click here for your tickets!
