Dirty Dancing- The Classic Story On Stage Brings Heat To The DFW!

Frances “Baby” Houseman has danced onto the stage and into our hearts once again at the Music Hall at Fair Park. Presented by Dallas Summer Musicals, the award winning musical Dirty Dancing– The Classic Story On Stage swept me away with explosive dance moves, sensational voices and a passionate romantic tale.

Taking place in 1963, 17 year old Baby and her family take a much needed vacation to New York’s Catskill Mountains. She stumbles upon a party at the “staff quarters” whose dancing has her mesmerized. She’s never seen sensual, dramatic dancing like this. When she volunteers to help dance instructor Johnny Castle, an emotional connection leads to more.

Dirty Dancing- The Classic Story On Stage is tantalizing… The rhythms of the beats will have you feeling the heat! From the choreography to the stage settings- you’ll feel like you are partaking in the festivities with the cast! Pleasantly surprising (and the highlight of my night) was the miraculous voice of Jennlee Shallow (that woman’s voice is freaking spectacular!!!) during her solos and hit song “(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life.” Just leaves you in a daze of awe. High kicks, jumps and the iconic lift bring the film to life on stage!

The electrifying production runs until July 5th at the Music Hall at Fair Park and July 7th-12th at Bass Performance Hall. YOU HAVE GOT to get your hands on some tickets! You will NOT be disappointed!
