The Golden Globes: The Best and the MESS!

The Golden Globes was by far the most uninteresting awards show (but the most culturally diverse)! I literally couldn’t take it anymore so I’ll give you what I’ve got based on what I watched. And if I could give the committee a little advice (for higher ratings next year) maybe add a good cover band or some type of ENTERTAINMENT!
Now, awards season has begun and we all love a good gown and a nice suit! The Golden Globes got us off to a pretty good start....
THE BEST: My ultimate favorite looks of the night were Kate Hudson in an all-white Altier Versace gown. She brings sexy and mature together nicely without “overdoing” it but saying “I’m allllll woman” honey, and David Oyewolo in a sparkly blue Dolce & Gabanna three piece suit. I like a man that takes risk and that he did.
THE MESS: Keira Knightley is such a beautiful woman but LAWD! What happened last night? The Chanel FROCK adorned with butterflies was horrible. I felt like I was in a nature and science museum. YUCK!
Besides the red carpet, the highlight of the show was the emotional speech (that brought tears to the eyes of Oprah) given by Common in accepting the award presented by PRINCE for “Best Original Song” with John Legend (who has one of the best voices EVER) for the film Selma which if you haven’t seen you MUST! Read his speech below:
“The first day I stepped on the set of Selma, I began to feel like this was bigger than a movie. As I got to know the people of the Civil Rights movement. I realize I am the hopeful black woman who was denied her right to vote. I am the caring white supporter killed on the front lines of freedom. I am the unarmed black kid who maybe needed a hand but instead was given a bullet. I am the two fallen police officers murdered in the line of duty.”
Don’t you just love that man?!?!
