Grammy nominee whose known in history as one of the most notable (and handsome), multi-platinum selling hip hop artist/lyricist, Nas takes us on a historical journey inside his life in the new documentary “Nas: Time is Illmatic”.

Taking us back into the making of Nas 1994 debut album, Illmatic, and what influenced its creation makes this documentary a MUST SEE for all fans, hip hop lovers and music listeners.

Twenty years after its release, Alicia Keys, Q-Tip, Swizz Beatz and more of hip hop’s top influencers give us their opinions on what makes the album incomparable and how they feel it affected society at the time. Going from his jazz musician father, to his mother – Ann Jones, his relationship with his younger brother Jabari Jungle Jones (who adds some humor to the doc) and the support of his crew from Queensbridge. I feel nothing was left out.

I’ve always had a love for Nas and his music. After watching the documentary I have a new found respect for the man. No matter where you come from, it’s very important to educate yourself. In my opinion this is something this young man did and his success grew because of that.

If you have a chance, check it out on demand and in theaters:: timeisillmatic.com
