Roundup for Autism is a wonderful organization that works to raise monies for Autism Treatment Centers of Texas' daily operations and expansion of services. Taking place at the Fort Worth Stockyards, the 26th Annual Bobby Norris Roundup for Autism hosted a family friendly parade with 19th Century cowboys, saloon girls, authentic Flamenco dancers and more. As a guest it was a honor to participate in the parade (as I know a friend who has a son diagnosed and I admire her determination) the evening held a cool breeze and the welcoming of the citizens of Fort Worth was phenomenal! By my side were my kiddos who were very excited to see the cowboys, live music and beautiful horses.
Followed by the parade was a celebrity rodeo beginning with a Grand Entry Parade and Lone Star Pony Express Saddlebag Presentation. From there we stood for the National Anthem and a young lady rode her horse around the ring standing straight up while holding our precious national flag (I really enjoyed that moment)
We watched celebrities try their hand at Team Roping and Team Penning (which is an interesting game). The professional Bull Riding competition was pure entertainment and I couldn't help but think of the adrenaline these guys get on (or getting flipped off) the bull. The cutest moment of the night was the Mutton Bustin' this is an event in which children ride the sheep. These kids were so adorable and because of this my son is now interested.
Round Up for Autism is a wonderful organization and based on the huge smiles and laughs in the audience it brought families together in support of Autism.
Co-chair Brooke Hayes stopped and spoke with us about the 3 day weekend that included a launch party, parade and rodeo and closing with a ball. Spirit Award winner Michelle Hammons spoke with us about her son who is benefitting from the organizations works and his new milestone he accomplished and country Soul singer J' Lee showed us the proper way to sing a country tune with SOUL!
Thank you Denise for taking good care of me and my crew!
