The late Philip Seymour Hoffman stars in "A Most Wanted Man"

Ok guys, so I know you’re planning your weekend. If hitting the theaters is on your list and you’re into thriller espionage movies or the late great Phillip Seymour Hoffman (he’s such a great actor) or Rachel McAdams (she is such a beauty) and lastly the weirdly handsome Willem Dafoe then A Most Wanted Man is the film for you. Just be prepared to be on a slow journey as a secret team of anti-terrorist spies in Germany follow the whereabouts of a young man who’s suspected of terrorist acts, Issa Karpov (Grigoriy Dobrygin) half Chechen, half Russian who shows up in Hamburg after being tortured in his homeland. Günther Bachmann (Hoffman) heads his team to go after the “bigger fish” while Hamburg intelligence head Dieter Mohr wishes to make an arrest now.
A Most Wanted Man is based on the novel by John le Carré which I’ve never read so I can’t tell you the comparison between the two but what I can say is this movie keeps you captivated because you want to know the fate of Issa and his lawyer Annabel Ritcher played by Rachel McAdams. Hoffman was spectacular in his last starring role, but really, at this point do we expect anything less from the Academy Award Winner? I’m a little disappointed that it’s not as action packed as I would like when watching a movie about spies and terrorists but the big ending made up for it. Originally released at 2014 Sundance Film Festival I give this film 3.5 stars out of 5.
