Evita is TIM RICE and ANDREW LLOYD WEBBER's Tony Award®-winning musical based on the passionate and unforgettable true story of Eva Perón. She used her beauty and charisma to rise meteorically from the slums of Argentina to the presidential mansion as First Lady. Adored by her people as a champion for the poor, she became one of the most powerful women in the world — while her greed, outsized ambition and fragile health made her one of the most tragic.
Evita became extremely popular when it went to film in 1996 with Madonna playing the title role and Antonio Banderas as Che.
Evita- presented by Dallas Summer Musicals at the Music Hall in the historic Fair Park was laced with beautiful songs, including "Another Suitcase in Another Hall", "High Flying, Adored” and the classic "Don't Cry for Me Argentina,"" Upbeat rhythms, vintage 1950s costumes that take you back into the era and dance moves that are so spell bound you are sure to get jealous.
One of my personal favorite scenes include the two soldiers in a stepping brawl choreographed to the T! The eye catching and captivating actress Caroline Bowman has a belting voice that captivates. Tony Award nominee Josh Young gave a memorable performance as the narrator, Che.
Evita is a fine Performance with great historical accuracy! Grab a date and come on out to experience this world known musical now running until April 27th!
