Follow the Yellow Brick Road....

The timeless classic “The Wizard of Oz” is in musical form at the Dallas Summer Musicals until March 30th. We all know the story of Dorothy from Kansas and her journey to visit the Wizard in order to get back home and the friends she meets along the way.

Andrew Lloyd Webber’s adaptation of The Wizard of Oz is nothing short of exciting! Lighting effects engage the audience and make you feel like you’re actually in tune with the stars. The grand entrance of Glinda- “The Good Witch” played by Robin Evan WIllis was phenomenal and her gown was oh so fabulous! The vibrant scenes just makes you smile and you can’t help but be anything other than happy listening to your favorite songs like "Ding-Dong! The Witch is Dead", "The Lollipop Guild" and "We're Off to See the Wizard". From the tap dancing Tin Man played by Mike Jackson to the Evil Witch of the West (who popped up on the audience) skillfully portrayed by Jacquelyn Piro Donovan to the greatly synchronized performance with dance sticks added a nice touch to the production.

The dancing scene at Oz was my personal favorite and I would say many of the kids enjoyed the flying balloon judging by the gasps I heard during that scene.

I can’t tell all the secrets that happened during our trip to see Oz but you can experience it yourself! Get your tickets now at DallasSummerMusicals.org
