We Will Rock You, a musical by Queen & Ben Elton!!

You have until March 16th to get to the Music Hall inside of Fair Park to view Dallas Summer Musicals “We Will Rock You”! From London’s West End to Dallas the show brings you the best of legendary rock group QUEEN as told by Ben Elton. The production opens with robotic cheerleaders and a graduating class so you really don’t know what to expect. It tells a story of two young adults in a world that’s so out of touch with reality it doesn’t really know what the sound of rock n roll is. Galileo hears lyrics in his head (rock lyrics of course) and he doesn’t know where they are coming from. He takes a journey with Scaramouche to bring back rock n roll after meeting a rock warrior couple named Britney Spears and his girlfriend Marilyn Manson. Along the way they meet a groovy guy by the name of Buddy who gives them insight on Rock n Roll. The colorful and digital world they are running from is based on the iPod, internet and auto tune.

It’s like a rock n roll version of the film The Matrix! Killer Queen’s wardrobe is phenomenal and the dance choreography fits into what I would think of as futuristic technical moves. To be honest I was amazed and surprised with the musical voices throughout We Will Rock You. With hit songs like Crazy Little Thing Called Love, We Are The Champions, Bohemian Rhapsody and of course, We Will Rock You, you forget your at a musical but more so at a concert especially when the guitarist plays in the shadows on stage during the duet between Galileo and Scaramouche.
